Kinetic parameters and relative turnovers of some important catabolic reactions in digesting sludge.
The kinetics of propionate degradation, acetate splitting, and hydrogen consumption in digesting sludge were investigated in a lab-scale digester. At natural steady-state conditions, the acetate-splitting systems in well-digested sludge were about half saturated. Propionate-degrading systems were saturated to only 10 to 15%, and hydrogen removal was less than 1% of the maximum possible rate. It...
متن کاملDetermination of Kinetic and Stoichiometric Parameters of Activated Sludge Models
An overview of methods aiming at the determination of selected parameters of activated sludge models has been presented. The attention was paid to the model parameters being the most sensitive and dependent on the composition of biomass and/or substrate. These parameters should be determined experimentally. Methods based on the measurements of oxygen uptake rate are widespread use in this area....
متن کاملKinetic Studies of Some Free Radical Reactions
Kinetic and mechanistic studies on some characteristic freeradica1 reactions are reviewed briefly. The unimolecular rearrangements: RCMe2CH ÷ Me2CCH2R, fall into two classes. Class 1: R = R'C(O)O for which the 1,2—migration occurs via a 5—eenter cyclic transition state with considerable charge separation, [R'C02 Me2CCH2]*. Class 2: R = H2C=CH, Me3CC=0, C6H5, Me3CCsC, and CsN, for which migratio...
متن کاملsome properties of fuzzy hilbert spaces and norm of operators
in this thesis, at first we investigate the bounded inverse theorem on fuzzy normed linear spaces and study the set of all compact operators on these spaces. then we introduce the notions of fuzzy boundedness and investigate a new norm operators and the relationship between continuity and boundedness. and, we show that the space of all fuzzy bounded operators is complete. finally, we define...

Antisera were raised against nine strains which had been isolated from phenol-acclimated oil refinery activated sludge. Although several antisera reacted significantly with the activated sludge during a period of adaptation to phenol, only an antiserum against one of the isolates, Alcaligenes sp. E2, reacted with the activated sludge after the adaptation period. A kinetic pattern of phenol-oxyg...
